Marketers of tobacco products and cigarettes should be ashamed of (disgusted with) themselves. Today my father passed away after suffering from lung cancer as a result of smoking. It's not a very pleasant way to go.
He, like many of his era, was duped by the glamour of smoking during the sixties and seventies when cigarette marketers and advertisers had free reign to lie about their product in the media.
Some marketers tell lies. Those individuals that profit from tobacco marketing lie blatantly about their product and have created such a desirable brand promise that people are prepared to die for it. The brand promise of smoking is one of the most despicable marketing successes and the effective use of marketing channels and techniques to achieve this makes me ashamed this day to be a marketer.
Don't believe everything that marketers tell you. Do independent research, read blogs, follow commentaries before you make your choice. Buyer beware!
And please, don't smoke!

Glad I'm not a competitor in this field!! :-)
Really sorry to hear about your Dad... All the best with
this sad time.
Would be keen to catch up if you wish.
Best Regards
Tim
Us non-smokers might say "It's all about choice", but for a smoker who made a foolish decision at an impressionable age, does the addictive nature of these chemicals actually give them choice?
I am all for initiatives like "SmokeFree", but statistic show this is not enough. We can only hope that someday, somehow all this suffering will come back on these tobacco swines to haunt them.
What I do find disturbing though, is now that we DO have the knowledge, why do our children still take up smoking...?!
