e-Commerce is really about the commercial transaction that you conduct when you purchase or order a product over the internet. It may include a variety of payment methods such as credit card, PayPal, DPS etc and is usually the final stage of a chain of events.
Online or internet marketing is the practice of generating sales leads or qualified visitor traffic to your website, with the end objective of selling them a product and securing payment though e-commerce, or getting them to make an enquiry. Whatever your online or internet marketing objective, you definitely want your visitor to take some action!
e-Commerce is the natural commercial conclusion to a successful online or internet marketing campaign. When you get to the checkout, scan the items and pay by Eftpos, cheque, cash, credit card etc, this is the equivalent of e-commerce.
